So I press the dealer a little more last night and the $2600 is for both gaskets. Press him a little more today that is w/o the timeserting, $4kwith the timeserting!

If I go with a new engine does anyone know of a good place to go in the Pacific NW to have it installed?

Is this too much work for one car?
Has anyone \"just\" replaced the head gaskets and ended up all right? If so at what cost?
How has luck been with going to a Cadillac Dealer to have the repairs done vs. an independent mnechanic?

This car is too beautiful to scrap. A family memeber told me to just get the \"liquid fix\" stuff and trade it off... I can't do that.

What should I do? I am in way over my head at this point. I just want the damn thing to run like a Cadillac.

$1400 additional to Timesert! Yikes! You'll have to check around. A lot of independent are not knowledgeable about the Northstar and thus won't touch them.

DO NOT replace the gaskets without getting it Timeserted. You are just asking for trouble and will likely have another failure in the future. Save yourself the headaches and do it right or don't do it at all.

Ranger has very good advice, pay a bit more now and get it done right or pay a lot more later.

This is it. I tinted the windows to 20% (it is hot as hell out here...), other then that, this was/is my car... I guess I am looking for some encouragement to spend another 5k+ to fix this. I love the car, but it is killing me to think that even after spending this it could still be a mess...
